Mission
The Youth Board strives to expand the circle of influence of Urban Word, to ring in more potential young leaders. We are the veins of this organization, not always visible but constantly flowing.
Description
Within the confines of the urban word community the Youth Board serves as the liaison between the office work and logistics of the organization and the youth that urban word services. YB concentrates on the love youth have for art. We encourage and push our fellow youth to grow in their own right, leading towards interdependence. We are here to to examples for our fellow youth as well as represent them in matters that we all feel strongly about. We want to tear down stereotype’s and misconceptions that have plagued the youth (preventing us from getting jobs and participate in decision making). We are here to show that we want to shape our future rather than have it be shaped for us.
