Urban Word NYC has been consistently providing a wide variety of arts to students in NYC as well as
professional development workshops to educators in schools and youth organizations. We currently
collaborate with over 100 New York City schools and programs. Our dynamic mentors and teaching
artists lead workshops that provide fun yet rigorous learning experiences where students gain artistic,
academic and social development.

Through our award winning programs students will: -Find their voice and creativity unlocking their hidden talents -Tap creativity and self-exploration. -Enhance critical thinking skills connecting their ideas, values and experiences to the greater world around them. -Deepen community ties and cultural understanding. -Enjoy the academic learning process in a dynamic and fun way. -Allow students to exercise multiple intelligences, thematic and integrated learning.

Who We Serve:-NYC Public and Private Schools, grades 7-12. We are DOE Licensed Vendors. -After-school programs. -Not for profit organizations including youth service agencies. -Teachers and Educators -For Profit Partners

We provide:

• Workshops (length and frequency adapted to fit your needs)
• Teaching Artist Residencies (8-12 weeks for 1-2 hours at a time).
• Assembly Presentations (lecture demonstration style, interactive, or performance).
• Professional Development Workshops for teachers and parents.
